The 47,000 SF corporate
headquarters and product development center received the
Chamber of Commerce award for "Facility of the Year".
The building was designed with the characteristics of
the environment in mind. The design focuses on maximum
natural lighting provided by a large, open landscaped
atrium in the center of the administrative area. The
atrium highlights a two-story air conditioned showroom
for the Zimmer vehicles. The atrium improves ambient
lighting as well as adding an interesting architectural
element into the work place. The multi-story structure
provides covered executive parking under the east and
west administrative areas.
In addition to 24,000
SF of administrative areas, the facility contains 23,000
SF for design, engineering, and full scale clay
prototyping of Zimmer model vehicles and manufactured
housing. |
