The homeowner had a contemporary post and beam home that was damaged by hurricane winds. The need to redesign the expansive window and door system gave the opportunity to add architectural features to the front and rear elevations. The new freestanding canopy provided practical protection to the front door and gave a distinctive dimension to the gable roof line.
